Grade 4 at Variety Village

Grade Four are learning about different abilities.

As part of our learning the students experienced tools developed for students with speech differences, with an in-class workshop. We then went to Variety Village to experience doing sports and activities as though we had physical differences – from modified bocce ball, seated volleyball, wheelchair basketball, and building structures with eyes closed while following verbal instructions. The students developed a deeper respect for people with different abilities, and became more aware of how humans can adapt and thrive when faced with adversity.
