It’s the beginning of the school year, and the Grade One class is building their classroom community with some getting-to-know-you activities.  Including a summer artifact share, morning circle games, a ‘Someone Who’ scavenger hunt, ‘Who We Are’ shoebox presentations, and a self-portrait art activity connected to our ‘Name Game’ unit. 

In JK French, we’ve started to talk about colours. We completed a colour sort activity and decorated our special “magic wands” (popsicle sticks). We use these throughout the year in French.
