Books so often provide inspiration for positive action – and sometimes this means the library program takes a trip outdoors! Here’s a recent example in our library: during Earth Week, GR 1-6 students had an opportunity to create wildflower “seed bombs” – an activity inspired by Andrew Larsen’s picture book Me, Toma and the Concrete Garden.

Working with the “recipe” from the book, we created and disseminated mini wildflower “garden starters,” to be tossed or planted for a dose of wildflower joy. Power to the pollinators! (And to the readers!)
